May all Beings Be at Peace

I’ve realized that I am here to serve, that we are all here to serve. We as humans are a bridge between the heaven and earth, a conduit of divine light so that we may inspire the light in others to shine brighter.

Indian philosophers and spiritual teachers have always taught us that in order to create peace on this planet, it starts from within. Of course easier said than done at times, I know…and some people find this way of thinking & living as a passive way of not taking responsibility. In my opinion it’s an act of courage!! And lets not undermine the power of our minds and the collective consciousness.

You’ve all heard of the 100th monkey effect? According to Wikipedia “It’s a studied phenomenon  in which a new behavior or idea is claimed to spread rapidly by unexplained means from one group to all related groups once a critical number of members of one group exhibit the new behavior or acknowledge the new idea.”

I wonder why is it that when one thought or a new invention is introduced to the collective consciousness, that people start to spring up with the same concept or similar ideas. Shifting evolution and our path, as is and has been from the past.

What I do know is that new behaviors can be learned, so let’s create positive and peaceful ones. Notice the trends on our planet in the past decades. How does that happen? What about the effect of emotions on one another? The government knows well the power of fear and using it to control people by the masses. Emotions can also be learned…That in my opinion is a phenomenon!!

So the point is, if we intend on having more peaceful thoughts-it will reflect in our actions-and our actions create our reality. Our thoughts are that powerful!!! Wow! just think about it!

It’s SO important to keep each other accountable by showing up as our authentic Self, on a daily basis. Dr Svaboda, a well known Ayurvedic Physician says, ” that our task on this imperfect planet is to work continuously towards relative perfection. And that the beginning of world perfection is self-perfection.”

Whether it’s being nice to your neighbor, practicing Yoga with the intention for peace, meditating…Let’s do our part, every bit counts.

I’ll end with a mantra, one of my favorites for cultivating peace on this planet.

Om Lokah Samastha Sukhino Bhavathu

May all being be at Peace.

May in some way my own thoughts, words, and actions contribute to the peace and happiness of this planet.

Hari Om
