Earthing as a form of Self Care

When was the last time you felt your naked feet touch the earth? Or the last time you dug your hands into the ground and felt the cool soil run through your fingers? Are you connected to the cycles of the moon, or your menses? 

In past times and in other cultures where people are working on the land directly every day, so many people especially those living in the city are feeling more stressed and disconnected than ever before. Separation from the earth because of shoes, cement, tiles, walls, cars, are confining us into spaces where we are not exposed to nature and her elements which can lead to dis-ease and . It is vital we receive Vitamin Nature, just as it is we take actual vitamins and eat for our health.

What is EARTHING?

Earthing is a term coined for walking barefoot, sitting on the earth, or connecting with the earth to receive and replenish ourselves. Studies have shown that when we come into direct contact with the earth, potentially harmful effects of  EMF’s ( electronic magnetic fields) from our phones, computers, radios, telephone wires, etc are eliminated and we absorb the electrons from the ground to regenerate our system. Electrons essentially neutralize damaging free radicals and help reduce stress and disease including inflammation from the body.

It’s simple and easy! Most important is we make time to do it.

Simple Tips for Earthing:

  • Walk on the earth or on the sand barefoot
  • Sun bathe naked in your backyard
  • Look up at the moon and check out what cycle she’s at in connection to your menstrual cycle
  • Get your hands in the earth!
  • Take deep breaths daily to replenish your lungs and feed your body with prana-life energy
