2 Day Weekend Immersive: Mindful Communication JUN 24-25, 1-5pm

Befriending Conflict: Tools and Practices for dealing with challenging relationships, difficult conversations, and managing conflict in a healthy way.

In this two day immersive class, join facilitators Jenny Ahn and Rachel Bennish in exploring the concepts and practices of Nonviolent Communication.  Practice empathic listening, explore your own triggers, what lies behind them, and how to stay in a state of empathy and compassion for yourself and others during even the most difficult conversations.

When: June 24-25, from 1-5pm

DAY 2: 
Deepening our Capacity for Compassionate Listening & Empathic Connection

 Cost: Payment for one day: $65, Both days: $130

This book will give you a deeper understanding of the principles and foundation of NVC to enhance the games and practices we will be playing in class.  It is not necessary that you read or have read this book but it is highly recommended to read throughout the six weeks of class.

Jenny and Rachel have been leading Compassionate Communication book readings and practice groups in the Long Beach area since 2015.  They are the co-founders of NVC Long Beach; the local chapter for those interested in learning, practicing, and sharing the principles and teachings of Nonviolent Communication.

Jenny has been teaching yoga and practicing Ayurvedic medicine over the past ten years. Currently she is a student of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Jenny views holistic medicine not isolated to just the body, but includes the mind and emotional health. She has been actively teaching workshops, taking classes, and studying non-violent communication and sees the value and benefit to her community.  She is dedicated to sharing what it means to connect empathically and communicate compassionately with one another within her community, friends, and family.

Rachel is a stand up comedian, actress, and comedic writer with a strong personal interest in conflict resolution and mediation.  She is dedicated to practicing compassionate listening and communication within her own life and relationships.  She believes compassionate communication is a ripple effect that begins with ourselves.  Rachel is excited to share and teach this heart based method of communication as a way to inspire peace and understanding with the greater community.
